Job Purpose

  • The Product Manager should support the Securities Service Head in providing and managing the Securities Services franchise. 
  • The Product Manager is expected to support new sales efforts, to ensure customer retention and satisfaction as well as to ensure the local product offering is competitive in terms of features and functions, service quality and price. 
  • This includes close interaction with clients to understand their needs as well as constant review and analysis of developments around the securities industry with an impact on the current service offering or with the potential for new service / product offerings.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain customer relationships at a senior level and focus on increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with market infrastructures and banking associations. 
  • Attend market forums and demonstrate leadership in the broader market community.
  • Maintain a good understanding of evolving and changing customer needs and customer perception of quality.
  • Monitor client satisfaction by participating in internal and external service reviews and ensure the branch receives the highest possible rating in key surveys identified.
  • Manage demands and changes in relation to regulatory requirements as well as credit & risk management (e.g., Manager Control Assessment, Operational and Outsourcing Risk Management, COB, Information Security and Compliance-related requirements).
  • Act as key contact for internal and external audits.
  • Support Securities Service Head to manage client RFPs, RFIs, DDQs and SLAs ensuring quality written materials and regional consistency.
  • Develop/maintain knowledge of the securities settlement industry in Germany. Source relevant market information and keep clients informed on all market and service developments via meaningful Market and Service Watches.
  • Maintain Market and Service Profiles with all new developments and any market/service changes.
  • Support Securities Service Head in retaining all current client relationships.
  • Support Securities Service Head in achieving revenue, expense and pipeline / growth targets.
  • Support consistently correct execution of the monthly client billing process via Billing Operations and support Securities Service Head in managing the local Financials in order to ensure that country revenues/expenses are correctly reflected.
  • Participate in pricing analysis and manage the smooth implementation of new client relationships.
  • Assist in establishing procedures and product frameworks with a focus on process efficiency.
  • Assist in instilling team spirit and develop effective partnerships with Operations and other business partners.
  • Participate in a virtual team that encompasses colleagues in other branches.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Citi’s policies and ensure adequate execution.
  • Liaise with other colleagues in Markets and Product Management in order to identify client needs and business opportunities. 
  • Deliver innovative solutions and contribute to the development of the franchise through enhanced product capabilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in a multi-function and/or global business.
  • Functional experience in marketing, credit, acquisitions, product development, or analytics.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
