Job Purpose

  • The AG Treasurer is responsible to manage and optimize all aspects of SCB AG's balance sheet and capital positions. 
  • In this capacity the AG Treasurer need to play a key role in any strategic discussion and in finally in optimizing SCB AG's and SC Groups RoE. 
  • The AG will become the expert on the balance sheet, capital and ALM topics and will work closely with key stakeholders such as the CEOs, CFO, Business Heads and other Treasurers to drive balance sheet strategy and capital efficiency mainly for SCB AG.

Job Responsibilities

  • Chairing AG's Germany Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) meeting and being responsible for and actively driving the agenda.
  • Own ALCOs Terms and References and ensure efficient management as well as regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure the effective management of AG's balance sheet, including funding, liquidity and market risks during ALCO.
  • Owning AG's capital and balance sheet plan and related topics.
  • Being responsible for all capital related policies of AG.
  • Optimise AG's capital use taken all regulatory limitations into account and finally improve Return on Tangible Equity / RWA.
  • Be in close contact with Group and Regional Treasury to drive AG's capital position.
  • Stay in line with all regulatory KPIs and include this in all respective business decisions.
  • Establish close working relationships with the Regulatory Reporting team within Finance and Liquidity Risk Management in Risk.
  • Responsible for Basel III liquidity reporting, including oversight of manual adjustments and CFO sign offs, analysis and interpretation of the results, and responding to new reporting requirements.
  • Final ownership of accuracy and integrity of all balance sheet submissions made.
  • Lead and coordinate all balance sheet analytics across AG.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 10-15 years relevant experience in Treasury / Finance / Consulting roles in the financial services industry, ideally with an international background.
  • Very advanced technical background in Capital and related Treasury / Finance topics including deep understanding of regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of German regulatory requirements a clear advantage.
  • Experience of forecasting P&L and balance sheet of a financial services / banking entity.
  • Project / Change Management experience with ability to support global projects and manage sub projects on their own.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. German is not a must but an additional advantage.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solver with good multi-tasking skills, able to prioritise issues and resolve them efficiently.
  • Strong organisational skills and process discipline in order to drive multiple agendas.
  • High output orientation and flexibility in order to handle changing priorities and urgent requests.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders well in both a one-to-one relationship and team environment.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills in order to tackle and track issues until resolution.
  • Ability to handle issues independently and represent AG in absence of CFO.
  • Personal accountability to conduct all tasks on time and meeting statutory requirements.
