Head of ALM
Job Purpose
This role is responsible for managing and optimizing Bank’s balance sheet, funding, liquidity, interest rate, capital management frameworks and strategies to ensure the Bank’s financial stability and profitability.
Job Description
- Monitor macroeconomic and geopolitical headwinds in the region to make sure the balance sheet remains liquid under stress scenario.
- Drive right structure for Bank’s balance sheet in terms of asset liability structure, concentration profile, liquidity and Interest rate maturity profile including contractual as well as behavioral profile, liability cost and revenue profile, balance sheet FX profile, etc.
- Drive the right Funds Transfer Pricing for the Bank.
- Manage Bank’s liquidity and funding position, ensuring adequate access to funding sources and managing the Bank's cash balances.
- Manage the Bank’s cash position, including forecasting cash flows and implementing strategies to optimize the Bank’s cash holdings.
- Evaluate the Bank’s current and future interest rate position and analyze alternative strategies/hedging to control interest rate risk.
- Monitor and report on ALM activities to senior management and ALCO including regular updates on key risks and performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Management Office, Risk and Finance to ensure alignment of goals and activities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in treasury and ALM at a managerial level.
- Effective communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
- Strong understanding of financial markets and instruments, as well as risk management principles and practices.
